Wax Inclusion Projects

(Ongoing) Objects encased in wax
1990
These works result from my studio-practice to embed objects into liquid wax. While the movement of the objects is frozen at a precise moment in time, the objects also hold an ambiguity I am deeply interested in: the wax has a preserving, conserving effect, yet it is the most fragile material itself in regard to the sensitivity to heat-exposure or applied friction.
